Activities

Our activities coordinator and care staff, work hard to provide person centred pursuits for all our residents. We encourage and support lifelong hobbies and interests, as well as providing opportunities to discover new ones.  Some of the activities we offer are:

  • Informative talks & General discussions
  • Arts & Crafts
  • Afternoon teas
  • Reading groups
  • Pet therapy
  • Singalongs & Instruments
  • Outings
  • Monthly church service at Regent House
  • Quizzes
  • Bingo
  • Games
  • Armchair exercises
  • Visiting entertainers (including the very popular ‘Bowling Brian’)
  • Sensory activities
  • Reading Groups for Meditation
  • Gardening Activities
  • Yoga Classes
  • Family events
  • Regular visits from the local school
  • Expert Support from our Specialized Adjustment & Denial Counsellor

Residents are welcome to participate in as many of the activities as they wish. Regent House recognises that not all people enjoy group activities and so provides one to one alternatives. We encourage our residents to get involved with the planning of activities and therefore welcome feedback on what is already being offered, as well as any suggestions for new activities residents would like to try.

Here at Regent House, we pride ourselves on not only taking care of your loved ones physical day-to-day needs but also their emotional well-being. We celebrate the uniqueness of the individual and their personal needs when it comes to their daily activity. There is a range of different interactive experiences from our music visits from our local school weekly exercises all the way to weekly excursions with the pilot support team who volunteer to take residents down to the sea front or local park for those who prefer a quieter environment. We offer one-to-one support for chats and company to make sure every individual feels at home here we understand that in order to have a full life taking care of a loved one means keeping each day exciting and fulfilled.
