Funding

Here at Regent House we understand that making the decision to place yourself or a loved one into a care setting can be a difficult one which can be accompanied by a host of issues that most of us are unaware of. Not surprisingly the thing that creates the most anxiety is funding. How much to pay and is there help available are just two of the questions that may cross your mind. The not for profit company Care Funding Guidance (http://www.carefc.co.uk/) offer impartial advice on funding for care. Their expert advisors are available to discuss individual circumstances and provide guidance and direction.  Visit their website for more information or give them a call on their Freephone number: 0800 055 6225. You can also email them at info@carefundingguidance.org

Which (https://www.which.co.uk/elderly-care/financing-care/financing-a-care-home) also have a great deal of information on funding and help that may be available. You can also find a link to the Care Services Directory as well as details of support groups for people affected by dementia.

The important thing to remember is that even though the idea of funding care can be daunting, there is help out there.

Our new website!

We have had a little makeover which we hope will give you a chance to see what Regent House is all about. This Blog is designed to provide regular updates on the latest goings on at Regent House. In addition to our website, we also have a Facebook page where regular updates about the home will appear along with information that may be useful to people who have loved ones in a care setting or who may be considering that route in the future.

So, what’s new?

Angela McKay, our lovely new gardener has been braving the cold weather to to turn our large outdoor space into Hove’s answer to Kew Gardens, or something close to that anyway. She will be creating a sensory rich environment which our residents will be able to enjoy – when the sun finally decides to put his hat on! Bringing in new flowers and plants that will stimulate the senses, Angela will be creating a richer and perhaps more therapeutic experience for our residents and guests.

(If this sounds like something you would be interested in and you have some time on your hands you could brighten someone’s day by volunteering with us. Please call or email to express your interest – subject to DBS checks and referencing).

Feel free to wonder all around, feel free to have a roam.

The top floor has nice views up there, where you can see the sea,

The ground floor overlooks the garden, full of wildlife and big trees.

So, worry not, just rest and relax and have a cup of tea,

Enjoy the entertainment with the Activity lady Dee.
